The Pilgrimage Center of the Lady of La Vang under the Archdiocese of Hue issued on August 5 a formal notification on an online mass to be held on August 15, 2021.
Accordingly, due to the current Covid-19 outbreak, the Pilgrimage Center of the Lady of La Vang will not receive pilgrims on the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary this year.
Instead, an online mass will be held starting at 8 a.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Shrine of the Lady of La Vang.
The online mass will be presided by Archbishop of Hue cum President of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh.
The Pilgrimage Center of the Lady of La Vang also informed that representatives to attend mass at the Shrine of the Lady of La Vang will be limited and determined by written invitations sent the mass’s Organizing Committee. Other dignitaries, deacons and lay Catholics will attend online mass via the Archdiocese's website at: www.tonggiaphanhue.net or www.tonggiaphanhue.org.
This is the second year in a row that the Archdiocese of Hue could not receive pilgrims to the Lady of La Vang to ensure the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic.
