On December 15, new Bishop of Kon Tum diocese Aloisio Nguyễn Hùng Vị led a delegation to visit the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee.
Joining the delegation was Former Bishop of Kon Tum diocese Michael Hoàng Đức Oanh.
Welcoming the guests included Chairman of the provincial VFF Committee Trần Bình Trọng and members of the committee’s Standing Board.
Speaking at reception, Bishop Nguyễn Hùng Vị thanked local authorities for its due attention and favorable conditions for Catholic dignitaries and followers to promote fine traditions, including the motto “Good Catholic is a good citizen”, “better religious and secular life” and “living Gospel in the heart of the nation”.
During the event, Mr. Trần Bình Trọng called on Catholic dignitaries and followers to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements for socio-economic development, and maintenance of national defense and security.
Prelate Mr. Aloisio Nguyễn Hùng Vị was appointed by the Vatican as Bishop of Kon Tum diocese on December 12.
