Khmer Theravada Buddhist sub-committees established for affairs of clergy, education, culture, propagation, information and communication

A ceremony to officially announce the establishment of the Khmer Theravada Buddhist sub committees for clergy affairs, education, culture, propagation, information and communication under respective central committees of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha was held at Candaransi pagoda in Ho Chi Minh city.
Attending the ceremony were Most Venerable Chairman of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn; Most Venerable VBS Deputy Patriarch Dương Nhơn; Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Central Committee for Information and Communication, and over 500 followers in the locality.
Local guests at the event included Director of Department of Ethic and Religious Affairs under the Steering Committee for the Southern region Hà Hữu Liền.
During the event Most Venerable Đào Như announced the establishment of five subcommittees:
Sub-committee for Clergy Education consisting of 64 members led by Most Venerable Danh Lung as its Chairman.
Sub-committee for Information and Communication consisting of 52 members with Venerable Châu Hoài Thái as its Chairman
Sub-committee for Cultural Affairs consisting of 68 members led by Most Venerable Danh Lung.
Sub-committee for Clergy Affairs consisting of 28 members led by Most Venerable Danh Đổng.
Sub-committee for Buddhist Propagation consisting of 30 members led by Most Venerable Danh Đổng.
