Khmer Sene Dolta Festival to be held in early October

The traditional Sene Dolta festival of Khmer people in Kien Giang will be held from 8 - 10 of October this year.

The provincial government of Kien Giang has issued a plan for celebrating activities this year’s festival, ensuring the preservation and promotion of fine traditions of Khmer culture, as well as safe, happy and economical celebrations.

The concerning provincial authorities will extend congratulating visits to Khmer pagodas, policy beneficiaries and prestigious people, including Buddhist dignitaries, as well as charity visits to disadvantaged Khmer families.

In addition, Khmer people serving in state sectors in the province, including the army and the public security, will be facilitated for spending times with their families for together celebrating the Sene Dolta festival this year.

The Southernmost province of Kien Giang is currently home to 56,373 Khmer households with about 238,000, accounting for over 13% of the provincial population.
