Indian President Pranab Mukherjee visits and offers incense at Tran Quoc pagoda in Hanoi

On September 16, on occasion of the State visit to Vietnam from September 14-17, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee and his delegation visited and offered incense at the main hall of Tran Quoc pagoda.

Most Venerable Thích Thanh Nhã, Abbot of Tran Quoc pagoda welcomed the Indian delegation and briefly introduced about the history of the pagoda.

The President of India and his delegation also visited the Bodhi tree that was presented as a gift by then Indian President Rajendra Prasad to President Ho Chi Minh during his visit to Vietnam in 1959. 

The President of India writes in Tran Quoc pagoda’s memorial book  

In his writing in the Tran Quoc pagoda’s memorial book, Indian President highly valued Buddhist teachings and believed that Buddhism continues to strengthen the existing relation between Vietnam and India
