Hung Khanh Temple under Pure-Land Buddhist Association in Binh Duong holds general meeting

Hung Khanh Temple under the Pure-Land Buddhist Association located in Binh Duong province’s Tan Uyen district held on April 21 the 3rd general meeting for the 2018 – 2023 tenure.

Attending the event were Acting Chairwoman of the provincial Executive Committee of the Pure-Land Buddhist Association Phan Thị Thu Cúc and about 100 followers of the Buddhist association in the district.

Chairman of the provincial committee for religious affairs Trần Đức Thịnh was amongst local guests at the event.

The general meeting discussed results of social-religious activities of the Pure-land Buddhist establishment during the 2nd term and approved tasks set out for the 2018-2013 tenure.

The meeting also elected ten members to the temple’s executive board for the 2018 – 2023 tenure with Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Nguyên reselected as Head of the board.

As reported, during the past term, the Buddhist establishment has delivered free service of medical examinations and distribution of over 1,6 million traditional medicine packs to over 240,000 poor patients, free acupuncture for over 15,000 patients, with the total value estimated at VND 170 million. In addition, the Buddhist temple members have contributed hundreds of millions VND to charity programs for supporting the poor and flood victims.
