Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced on January 18 that many activities will be held for locals and visitors to welcome Tet or Lunar New Year Festival in the Year of the Ox.

These activities will be started from February 2 (the 21st day of the 12th lunar month) with the ceremony of Thiet Trieu or Royal Working Meeting in the inner Imperial Palace’s Dai Trieu Nghi Court and an exhibition marking the 200th anniversary of King Minh Mang’s ascension to the throne.

Then it would be followed by the setting up of Neu (Tet tree) at 3 points in the Citadel (The Mieu, Trieu Mieu, and Long An palace) on February 4.

In order to serve locals and tourists to welcome the Lunar New Year, from February 5 to 14, Hue Monuments Conservation Center will organize many meaningful programs and activities, including a poem exhibition on the imperial palace of Hue, a competition on the making of Tet cakes, royal games, classical drama excerpts and other performances of royal arts, and activities related to calligraphy (from the 1st to the 3rd day of the Lunar New Year).

The Tet program will be ended with the ceremony of Neu lowering, New Year Seal opening, giving spring blessing on February 18 (the 7th day of Lunar Calendar) held at The Mieu, Trieu Mieu and Long An palace.
