Hue Archdiocese has kicked off a year of celebrations marking 170 years as a Catholic Church jurisdiction at a ceremony held on January 1.
The ceremony saw the presence of Archbishop Non-residential Pontifical Representative to Vietnam Marek Zalewski, Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh, former Archbishop Francis Xavier Lê Văn Hồng, Bishop of Quy Nhon Diocese Matthew Nguyễn Văn Khôi, and a large number of priests from religious orders, congregations and parishes in Hue and other dioceses.
During the ceremony, Archbishop Marek Zalewski performed offering incense ritual and Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh delivered his opening speech for opening the year marking 170 years of Hue Archdiocese.
