Home affairs sector reviews its annual performance

The Ministry of Home Affairs held an online conference in Hanoi on December 9 to review its performance this year and discuss plans for 2015.

The conference was chaired by Prime Minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng, Minister of Home Affairs Nguyễn Thái Bình, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Phạm Dũng, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Chairman of the Central Committee for Emulation and Reward Trần Thị Hà.

Attending the conference were representatives from ministries, central agencies and 63 provincial-level departments of home affairs in the country.

The conference report prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs reviewed and evaluated home affairs in 2014, including the state governance on religious affairs. This report also pointed out specific weaknesses, such as the cumbersome apparatus of some administrative sectors and inefficiencies of several administrative reform programs.

The conference approved plans for 2015. Accordingly, tasks of home affairs in 2015 will focus on key issues, such as to boost the formulation of legal institutions and complete important draft laws including the Law on the Organization of the Government; to increase the effectiveness of state management, accelerate the administrative reform, and apply an e-government system; to quickly complete the project on job descriptions to specify the functions and responsibilities of each state agency; to formulate a management mechanism to increase the discipline of state employees.
