Minister of Home Affairs Ministry Lê Vĩnh Tân hosted on September 24 a warm reception for visiting Minister of Buddha Sasana of Sri Lanka Gamini Jayawickrema Perena.
During the meeting, Minister Lê Vĩnh Tân stated that Vietnam always attaches importance to the bilateral traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation with Sri Lanka, and cooperation activities in many fields between the two countries have been fruitfully implemented and practically contributed to socio-economic development in each country.

The home affairs leader also spoke highly of cooperation in religious affairs between Vietnam and Sri Lanka, including the favorable conditions created for the Buddhist churches in the two countries to expand exchanges and collaboration.
The Vietnam home affairs official also expressed that the Vietnam Government Committee on Religious Affairs and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Buddha Sasana would continue boosting cooperation in religious affairs as well as creating favorable conditions for strengthening Buddhist cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Gamini Jayawickrema Perena informed the host results of the working meeting between the Vietnam Government Committee on Religious Affairs and the Sri Lankan Ministry of Buddha Sasana taking place on occasion of his working visit to Vietnam from September 23-27.
The Sri Lankan Minister Sasana also expressed hope to strengthen fruitful cooperation in religious affairs with the Vietnamese counterpart in the coming time, contributing to the bilateral traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.
