Holy See of Correction-Path Caodai Church classified as provincial cultural relic

The Holy See of the Correction-Path Caodai Church located in Ben Tre City was formally recognized as a provincial historical-cultural relic at a ceremony held on June 19.

Attending the ceremony held by the Caodai Church on occasion of the 136th  Birthday Anniversary of Pope Nguyễn Ngọc Tương included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng, local authorities’ representatives, and large numbers of the Church’s dignitaries and followers.

The Caodai Church’s Holy See was classified by an official document issued by the Chairman of Ben Tre provincial People’s Committee on December 16, 2016. The Holy See currently has an area of 7,015m2 with a complex of concretized and spacious structures for religious worshipping, accommodations, training, libraries, etc,

Since its founding and development under the leadership of Pope Nguyễn Ngọc Tương, one of founding members, the Correction-Path Caodai Church has operated with the sound motto “Glorifying the Country, Enlightening the Faith”, stayed closely attached to the country, and rendered meritorious service to the nation with many of its followers heroically sacrificed their life during wars for national independence and unification. After 1975, the State of Vietnam has awarded the first-class war medal to the Pope’s family, and the second-class war medal to the Caodai Church.

 Speaking at the ceremony, Bishop Thượng Tấn Thanh pledged to keep on preservation of the classified historical-cultural relic and promote its fine values.
