Hoang Muoi temple festival in Nghe An recognised as national intangible cultural heritage

A ceremony for receiving the certificate recognizing Hoang Muoi temple festival in Nghe An province’s Hung Nguyen district on the national list of intangible cultural heritages was held on November 6.  

Attending the event included Deputy Director of Department for Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nông Quốc Thành, representatives from local authorities, and large numbers of local people and visitors.

During the ceremony, Hoang Muoi temple festival located in Hung Nguyên district’s Hung Thinh commune received the title of the national intangible cultural heritages.

Hoang Muoi temple was built in the 17th century. It current worships Hoàng Mười Saint and other saints of the Vietnamese Mother Goddess worship.

The temple festival this year is celebrated on November 5-6 with many traditional rites and folk activities.
