Hoa Hao Buddhist church in Tien Giang contributes over one billion VND for social charities and Covid-19 prevention work in last six months

  Hoa Hao Buddhist church in Tien Giang province currently has one representative committee, 18 executive boards with over 2,000 followers, concentrated mainly in four districts of Cai Be, Cai Lay, Tan Phuoc and Cho Gao.

 

According to Vice Chairman of the Hoa Hao Buddhist church’s Representative Committee in the province Võ Thanh Tuấn, for the past six months, the Hoa Hao Buddhist church in Tien Giang has made practical contributions to social charities and the Covid-19 prevention work in the locality.

The Hoa Hao Buddhist church in the province has supported the building of two rural bridges and nine charitable houses, presented supports to pupils and students from poor families and five wheelchairs to people with disabilities, offered over 1.740 breads to disadvantaged people, provided 13.254 packs of medicines and acupuncture for 1.427 patients. During the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the Hoa Hao Buddhist followers have also presented 20 boxes of facemasks, 10 boxes antiseptic, 119 sets of essential supplies to disadvantaged households in lockdown and quarantine areas, and offered free transportation of Covid-19 infected cases. These charitable activities have the total contributing valued of 1,030 million VND.
