The Representative Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhism in An Giang province held on January 18 a meeting at Buu Hoa temple in Chau Phong district to review its performance in 2017 and outlined working plans in 2018.
The event saw the participation of Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church Lê Ngọc Lợi, Vice Chairman of the provincial Representative Committee Nguyễn Văn Tát and about 270 Buddhist delegates from the Church’s district-level executive boards in the province.
Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Lê Nguyên Châu and Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trương Hoàng Trọng were amongst local guests at the event.
As reported at the meeting, in the past year, Hoa Hao Buddhist followers in the province actively participated in local movements for building charity houses, supporting poor people, building social welfare facilities, etc, with the total contribution of over VND 98 billion.
