Hoa Hao Buddhist Church establishes first training institution

The Executive Committee of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church in An Giang province formally received the approval for establishing Hoa Hao Buddhist College during its 4th mid-tenure conference held on January 6.

Attending the event for 2014-2019 term included Chairman of the Hao Hao Buddhist Church’s Executive Committee Nguyễn Tấn Đạt, Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee Nguyễn Huy Diễm, dignitaries from the committee and delegates representing 395 management boards from cities and provinces across the country.

The conference also saw the participation of Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Dương Ngọc Tấn, Director of the GCRA’s Department of Other Various Religion’s Affairs Nguyễn Ánh Chức, Vice Chairman of An Giang provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thanh Bình and local authorities’ representatives.

During the event, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn handed over the decision for approving the establishment of the first Hoa Hao Buddhist college to the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church. 

Addressing at the conference, Vice Chairman Dương Ngọc Tấn acknowledged typical achievements during the mid-tenure of 2014-2019 by the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church’s Executive Committee, including the organization of 56 religious trainings in 11 provinces with the participation of 1,456 followers as well as the contribution of more than VND 1,000 billion to social and charitable activities in the locality.
