The Central Executive Committee of Hòa Hảo Buddhism celebrated the sect’s 77th founding anniversary at a solemn ceremony held on June 22 at An Hoa Tu in An Giang province.
The ceremony saw participation of large numbers of deacons and followers of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church from localities.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice President of the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Lê Bá Trình, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng and Chairwoman of An Giang provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trần Thị Thanh Hương.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng praised deacons and followers of Hoa Hoa Buddhism for practical contributions to the socio-economic development in the locality. He also highlighted the religious motto of action “for Dharma, for Nation”, its fundamental doctrine “Study Buddhism, Cultivate Human Virtues, and social and charitable activities, contributing to promote religious unity and consolidate the national unity bloc.
On this occasion, Vice President Lê Bá Trình presented congratulatory flowers to the Central Executive Committee of Hoa Hoa Buddhism and read the congratulating letter of the Central Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee President Nguyễn Thiện Nhân.
