The representative committee of Hoa Hao Buddhism in Ca mau province held on July 1 a solemn ceremony to mark the 79th anniversary of Hoa Hao Buddhism (the 18th day of the fifth lunar month).
Attending the ceremony taking place in the committee’s office located in the province’s Ca Mau city included representatives from the provincial authorities and other religious organizations, and about 400 Hoa Hao Buddhist deacons and followers representing commune-level executive boards of Hoa Hao Buddhism in the province.

On the occasion, one group and six individuals of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Church were presented with certificates of merit by the provincial people’s committee and Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s committee for their outstanding contributions to social charities in the province.
As reported, Ca Mau province is currently home to over 1,600 followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism. Over the past years, Hoa Hao followers in the province have made practical contributions to social development of the locality with billions of VND recorded for charitable activities.
