During the event held on the sideline of the city VBS’s monthly meeting, Most Venerable Thích Trí Quảng extended  congratulations to Buddhist monks and nuns elected to the National Assembly and People’s Councils for the 2016-2021 tenure. These Buddhist dignitaries include Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the city VBS Executive Committee Thích Thiện Tánh and Nun Member of the city VBS Executive Committee Thích nữ Như Thảo selected as Members of the city People’s Council; Nun Member of the city VBS Executive Committee Thích nữ Tín Liên elected as Deputy of the National Assembly and 28 monks and nuns from 24 executive boards choosen as members of the commune and district-level People’s Councils in the city.
