Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese set up team cleric team for supporting Covid-19 prevention and fighting work

Responding a call of President of the Vietnamese Bishops' Conference Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh, Ho Chi Minh City Archdiocese established on June 18 a voluntary group of clergymen and clergywomen and called members of religious orders under the archdiocese to join hand with doctors and nurses in the city in helping Covid-19 patients.

Catholic clergymen and clergywomen voluntarily joining the group will be provided with basic skills in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic, and in taking care patients with no clinical symptoms.

As reported, due to the complicated development of the Covid-19 pandemic, with rising numbers of patients in recent weeks, Ho Chi Minh City has imposed the social distancing in the whole city in accordance with the Prime Minister's Directive No. 16/CT-TTg from July 9, 2021.
