Ho Chi Minh city: A ceremony held to launch a Buddhist Arts Subcommittee

On August 2nd, at Pho Quang temple (Co Giang str, Phu Nhuan dist, HCMC) a ceremony was held to announce the decision on the personnel of the Buddhist Arts Subcommittee under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Buddhist Laymen Committee.

At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thích Thanh Hùng said with the debut of the Buddhist Arts Subcommittee, the VBS Buddhist Laymen Committee now has six Subcommittees. The debut of Buddhist Arts Subcommittee suited the present time and would contribute their wisdom to propagation of the Dharma.

Accordingly, the Buddhist Arts Subcommittee has 16 members with the Venerable Thích Trí Châu as the Head of the Subcommittee.

On this occasion, Most Venerable Thích Tấn Đạt, Deputy Director of Central Office II of the VBS praised for the Buddhist Arts Subcommittee establishment and expected the Buddhist Arts Subcommittee would make much contribution to the development of Buddhism in Vietnam.
