Dong Da district’s Party Committee and local authorities held a ceremony on May 29 to receive certificates recognizing Voi Phuc and Quan Thanh Temples as special national relic sites.

The ceremony saw the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam. State President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc and National Assembly Chairman Vương Đình Huệ sent banquets of flowers to the event.
Temples of Voi Phuc (Kneeling Elephant) and Quan Thanh are well-known historical and architectural relic sites in Ba Dinh district. They are among the four sacred temples dedicated to the deities who guard at four gates of the Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Voi Phuc Temple is located at the western gateway to Thang Long Imperial Citadel (Ngoc Khanh ward), and Quan Thanh Temple is situated at the northern gateway (Quan Thanh ward).
The two remaining temples are Bach Ma (White Horse) in the east (Hoan Kiem district) and Kim Lien (Golden Lotus) in the south (Dong Da district).
At the ceremony, a representative of the People’s Committee of Ba Dinh district unveiled a plan to preserve and promote the value of Voi Phuc and Quan Thanh Temples – the special national relic sites.
