Hanoi: Third 2014 program “Red Drop for Debt of Gratitude” held

Trần Thái Tông Buddhist youth in Sùng Phúc Buddhist Zen monastery (Cu Khoi ward, Long Bien district) in coordination with the Central Hematology and Blood Transfusion Institute organized a third program “Red Drop for Debt of Gratitude in the Month of Filial Piety”, creating an opportunity for Buddhists to donate blood for saving people as well as for building gracious merit for themselves and their parents.

The program was held in the presence of Venerable Thích Tâm Thuần - Vice Chairman of the Propagation Committee under Hanoi City Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Abbot of Sùng Phúc Buddhist Zen monastery, Venerable Thích Tỉnh Thiền - assistant Abbot of Sùng Phúc monastery, Venerable Thích Trúc Thái Phước - monk in charge of dogmas of Sùng Phúc monastery, Mrs. Trần Thị Vân Anh - Assistant Secretary of Long Bien district’s Party Committee, Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Nhung - President of Long Bien district’s Red Cross, and Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Toản - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Cu Khoi ward (Loing Bien district).

During the program “Red Drop for Debt of Gratitude in the Month of Filial Piety” Venerable Abbot of Sung Phuc Monastery preached on debt of gratitude to parents, filial piety and the significance of blood donation to the filial gratitude.

Appreciative of high and beautiful value of blood donation shared in a dharma preaching associated with the program “Red Drop for Debt of Gratitude in the Month of Filial Piety”, Mrs. Trần Thị Vân Anh, Assistant Secretary of Long Bien district’s Party Committee, the first person to donate blood in the program, confided that she has donated blood for the tenth time in order to contribute to save lives, and this time is most special one - donating blood with additional meanings of Buddhist teachings.
