The department of culture, sport and tourism held on July 23 a meeting to review the five-year implementation of Article 11 of the Law on Capital City stipulating on the preservation of cultural heritage.
As reported at the meeting, for strict implementation of the law’s article 11, Hanoi municipal authorities have issued regulations for surveying, classifying and renovating cultural heritages in the city, including ancient worshipping places with great cultural and historical values.
Famous historical and cultural relics, such as Ngoc Son Temple, Temple of Literature (Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam), Hoan Kiem Lake, Thang Long Citadel and Hanoi Old Quarter have been well preserved and have become favorite tourist spots for both international and domestic visitors.
The examination and classification of cultural heritages have recorded encouraging results with the recognition of national treasure granted to 14 valuable cultural heritages found or existing in Hanoi an currently preserved in Hanoi Museum, Tay Phuong Temple relic, Temple of Literature, etc.
