Hanoi Caritas on August 2 presented rice to people facing difficulties in Hanoi city amid the ongoing social distancing imposed for Covid-19 prevention.
Sharing difficulties with the poor during the social distancing and under guidance of Archbishop of Hanoi Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên, Hanoi Caritas has launched a rice charity program for supporting the poor in Catholic parishes in the city, irrespective of their religious background.
So far, the charity program, in collaboration with priests and members of the Caritas in the parishes, has presented 815 rice bags, each containing 5kg of rice, to poor families.
The charity program would be weekly implemented by Hanoi Caritas until the pandemic is under control.
