Ha Tinh province: Catholic Committee Solidarity reviews six-month performance

The Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in Ha Tinh province held on July 20 a conference to review its activities in the first six months 2016 and map out key tasks for the last six months.

The conference saw the participation of Priest Chairman of the Committee Đậu Quang Hải, and delegates representing the district-level Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics in the province. Representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee also joint the event.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of the provincial VFF Committee Bùi Nhân Sâm spoke highly of achievements recorded by local Catholics in the first six months of 2016 and urged the provincial Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics to actively engage in patriotic emulation movements for the socio-economic development in the locality.

According to the conference report, currently over 460 residential areas in the province have Catholic followers, in which 114 localities have all Catholic residents.
