A reviewing meeting for Buddhist affairs in 2016 by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Ha Tinh province was held on January 14 in Ha Tinh city’s Cam Son pagoda.
The meeting saw participation of Most Venerable Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS Executive Committee Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Buddhist dignitaries from the provincial Buddhist committee and the VBS executive board of districts in the province.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Đào Văn Hải.
As reported at the meeting, in the past years, local Buddhist dignitaries and followers in the province actively participated in local movements and raised over 42.8 billion VND for social, charity activities to help the poor, people with disabilities and flood victims in central region, etc.
