Ground breaking ceremony for construction of main worshipping hall of Kim Lien pagoda in Ninh Binh

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Committee in Ninh Binh province’s Kim Son district held a ground-breaking ceremony to construct the main worshipping hall of Kim Lien temple (Dong Dac pagoda) on December 23.
The event saw the participation of Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Thích Thanh Đàm, Senior Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Thọ Lạc, and large numbers of monks, nuns and followers in Kim Son district.
Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Ngọc Tấn and Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Đại Đồng.
According to Senior Venerable Thích Thọ Lạc, Dong Dac pagoda was built in 1838 and has been restored four times. Starting its latest upgrade, the pagoda built a Buddhist education center in 2013 which was completed and put into use in the summer of 2017.
