Ground breaking ceremony for construction of Buddhist temple in Tien Giang

The construction of An Thanh pagoda located in Tien Giang province’s Go Cong Tay district was kicked off at the stone-laying ceremony held on February 4.

The event saw of the participation of Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Committee in Tien Giang Thích Trí Hườn, Senior Venerable the VBS’s Executive Board in Go Cong Tay district Thích Giác Tây and a large number of Buddhists in the district.

Local guests at the event included Chairwoman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thị Mai.

According to Venerable Abbot of the monastery Thích Trung Bổn, An Thanh pagoda will be built on area of 240 m2 and expected to be completed in late 2018.
