Grand requiem held for victims of traffic accidents in Lam Dong province

About 2,000 Buddhist monks, nuns, followers and people who lost their relatives in traffic accidents joint on September 7-9 a grand requiem for traffic accident victims at Lam Vien square in Da Lat city.

The event co-organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) executive committee in Lam Dong province in collaboration with the provincial board for Traffic Safety also saw the participation of Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS executive committee Thích Toàn Đức, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Đường Anh Ngữ and Director of Transport department Trương Hữu Hiệp.

Addressing the event, Most Venerable Thích Đức Toàn emphasized meanings of requiem held with the aim to pray for the death victims of traffic accidents and share with the pain of bereaved families who have lost family members and relatives. He also regarded this event as also an opportunity for monks, nuns and Buddhist in the province to enhance their awareness on rules of traffic safety.
