Grand program dedicated to Mother Goddess worship held in Nam Dinh

A grand ceremony dedicated to Mother Goddesses worship was held in Tien Huong temple, Vu Ban district, Nam Dinh province on May 5-6.

The event co-organized by the Thang Long – Hanoi Cultural Heritage Association (HCHA), temples of Tien Huong and Day and Vu Ban district authorities saw the participation representatives from Mother Goddesses worshipping practicing communities across the country and a large number of visitors.

Distinguished guests at the event included representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the provincial government.

The ceremony featured a series of activities including Buddhist and worshipping rituals, traditional art performance and folklore activities such as dragon and Kylin dancing and flying up balloons.

The event held one year after the Mother Goddesses worship received its recognition by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity aimed to reaffirm and honor values of the worshipping practice.
