A grand ceremony for the 98th Birthday of Prophet Huỳnh Phú Sổ - Founder of Hoa Hao Buddhism was solemnly held on January 11 by the Executive Committee of Hoa Hao Buddhist Church.
Distinguished guests at the event included Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Vice Chairman of An Giang provincial People’s Committee Lê Văn Nưng, Vice Chairman of the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Trương Hoàng Trọng, Chairman of the provincial religious committee Lê Nguyên Châu, and representatives of concerning central and local authorities.

During the solemn ceremony, Vice Chairman Trương Hoàng Trọng hailed practical contributions made by followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism to socio-economic development in the country and called on Hoa Hao Buddhist church and its followers to continue upholding fine traditions and proactively participating in social programs and movements for social unity and sustainable development in localities.
