Government plans restoration of special national relics in Bac Ninh province

Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam has approved a plan for restoration and promotion of values of three special national relics in Bac Ninh province. 

These three relic sites included Dau pagoda and the old Luy Lau citadel in Thuan Thanh district; Phat Tich pagoda in Tien Du district; and the tombs and temple of Ly Kings in Tu Son district.

Dau pagoda, also known as Dien Ung, Phap Van or Co Chau, was located in the center of the most typical historical and cultural relic site in famous Kinh Bac region (Bac Ninh province). This place used to be the capital of Giao Chi district (Giao Chau), a political, economic and cultural city in Vietnam history and most ancient Buddhist centre that included Luy Lau citadel, worshipping temple and tomb of Sỹ Nhiếp, a system of temples, shrines, markets...

Phat Tich pagoda, also called Van Phuc pagoda, was built during in the reign of King Ly Nhan Tong and situated near Phat Tich mountain. The pagoda was restored several times under Ly, Tran, Le, Nguyen dynasties and became a large Buddhist center of Vietnam.

The site of tombs and temple of Ly Kings belong to a important center for worshipping Ly dynasty with famous Do Temple built in 1019 by Ly Cong Uan or Ly Thai To, the founder of Ly dynasty, which was innovated many times by feudal dynasties. Near Do Temple, the system of Ly tombs, known as Tho Lang Thien Duc complex, was located in the east of Dinh Bang village in Tu Son district.
