The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Board in Ben Tre province’s Ba Tri district held on April 8 the 7th general meeting for 2021 – 2026 tenure at Long Duc pagoda.
The event taking place at Long Duc pagoda saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Nhựt Tấn, Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee in Ben Tre province; Senior Venerable Thích Minh Hoàng, Chairman of the VBS executive board in Ba Tri district, representatives from local authorities and large numbers of monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the locality.
The one day meeting approved a report of Buddhist affairs in the 2016-2021 tenure and plan for the term 2021-2026 of the executive board, as well as elected 17 members to the VBS executive board for 2021-2026 with Senior Venerable Thích Minh Tâm selected as Head of the executive board.
Earlier, the VBS in Ayun Pa provincial city of Gia Lai province on April 7 organized its 4th general meeting at Buu Tinh pagoda.

Participating the event included Most Venerable Thích Trí Thạnh, Member of the VBS Central Discernment Council; Most Venerable Thích Từ Vân, Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee in Gia Lai province, Vice Chairman of the provincial Department for Home Affairs cum Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Hồ Hải Tần, and over 200 delegates who are heads of Buddhist worshipping establishments and lay Buddhists in the province.
As report at the event, during tenure 2016-2021, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the locality made practical contributions valued at over 4.5 billion VND to charity works and the Covid-19 epidemic prevention.

The meeting elected nine members to the VBS executive board for the term 2021 – 2026 with Most Venerable Thích Trí Yên, Abbot of Buu Tinh pagoda chosen as Chairman of the executive board.
