Former President Trương Tấn Sang visits Vi Xuyen national martyrs cemetery

Former President Trương Tấn Sang paid a visit to Vi Xuyen national martyrs cemetery on July 11 on occasion of the 72th anniversary of Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27) and the 40th anniversary of Northern border defense war.  

During the visit, Former President Sang laid flowery wreaths, offered incense and paid tribute to the heroic martyrs died during the Northern border defense war.

Vi Xuyen cemetery currently has 1,797 tombs of martyrs and a grave of martyrs, in which 330 tombs of martyrs have not been identified.

In the evening of the same day, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in collaboration with Ha Giang provincial authorities held a requiem to pray for the spiritual uplifting of the war martyrs in the cemetery.
