The Hue archdiocese held on December 03 a mass for celebrating the 50th anniversary of priestly ordination and 80th birthday of Former Archbishop Francis Xavier Lê Văn Hồng.
The ceremony taking place at Phu Cam cathedral saw the presence of Archbishop Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh of Hue, Joseph Nguyễn Năng of Ho Chi Minh city, and Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên of Hanoi diocese.
During the event, Priest Joseph Nguyễn Văn Chánh, in charge of priest and clergy training under Catholic Bishops’ conference of Viet Nam, read the letter sent by Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples in the Roman Curia for congratulating the 50th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Archbishop Francis Xavier Lê Văn Hồng.

Former Archbishop Lê Văn Hồng was born on June 30, 1940 in Quang Tri province. He was ordained as a priest on December 21, 1969. The Catholic dignitary was appointed as Archbishop of Hue archdiocese by Pope Benedict XVI on August 18, 2012.
