Five-year implementation of coordination program for environmental protection in Thai Binh reviewed

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee in Thai Binh province held on September 11 the meeting for reviewing the five-year coordination program promoting religious involvement on the environmental protection and climate change adaptation in the 2016-2020 period.  

As reported at the meeting, the provincial VFF in collaboration with the Natural Resources and Environment Department in the province has signed a coordination program with religious organizations for promoting the role of religious organizations for environmental protection.

Implementing the coordination program, each religious organization has developed action plans and put contents of environmental protection and climate change adaptation into annual programs.

Over the five years, grassroots-level VFF committees distributed 1,600 dissemination copies and 2,500 leaflets, as well as held 291 meetings on the Law on Environmental Protection 2014 for 46,500 cadres and religious dignitaries, deacons and lay people in the locality.

Provincial VFF presents certificates of recommendation to outstanding individuals

At the meeting, the VFF in the province presented certificates of recommendation to 17 groups and 9 individuals for their practical contribution in implementing the coordination program.
