Five religious dignitaries elected to 15th National Assembly

The National Election Council held on June 6 a conference to announce the list of 499 candidates elected to the 15th legislature.  

In the list of selected candidates, 194 candidates represent central organizations, 301 come from local administrations, self-nominated candidates are 4.

In the total number of candidates elected to the 15th legislature, five candidates represent religious organizations, namely:

Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm, Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee in Hà Nôi city (79.97% valid votes) belonging to the National Assembly deputy delegation in Hanoi city.

Most Venerable Thích Thanh Quyết, Vice President of the VBS Central Executive Council cum Principal of Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Hanoi, Chairman of the VBS Chapter in Quang Ninh (with 87.82% of valid votes) belonging to the National Assembly deputy delegation in Quang Ninh province

Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, General Secretary of the VBS Central Executive Council

Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, General Secretary of the VBS Central Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS Chapter in Dien Bien province ( with 93.06% valid votes) and belonging to the National Assembly deputy delegation in Dien Bien province.

Senior Venerable Lý Đức, Abbot of Som Rong pagoda in Soc Trang city
