The executive committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in Ben Tre province in collaboration with the provincial fisheries association held on October 21 a ceremony for resleasing over 2 tons of live fish into Ham Luong river.
According to Buddhist Thái Ngọc Hà, the fish release is an annual activity of the local Buddhist organization and often attracts lots of Buddhist followers in the province.
The release of different kind of fresh water fish (tilapia, carp, pangasius...) into the river recieved due support from the provincial fisheries department as it contributes to the preservation of natural aquatic resources in the locality.
