First meeting of mass mobilization subcommittee under national steering committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính signed on August 25, 2021 the decision No. 1438/QD-TTg on consolidating the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control headed by the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, the Government chief also decided to set up eight subcommittees of health, security and social order, social welfare, finance and logistics, production and circulation of goods, resource mobilization, mass mobilization, and communication, as well as specified functions and tasks of the national steering committee and each sub-committee.

In particular, the subcommittee on mass mobilization has been tasked with directing, organizing and mobilizing people to actively and voluntarily implement and participate in the Covid-19 epidemic prevention and control work. The subcommittee has been headed by Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Bùi Thị Minh Hoài and four deputy heads including Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ministry in charge of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng.

On September 8, the first meeting of the mass mobilization subcommittee held at the central mass mobilization commission’s office was chaired by Head of the subcommittee Bùi Thị Minh Hoài for implementing the subcommittee’s assigned tasks, and approving operating regulations and the working plan as well as specific tasks assigned to each of the deputy heads.

During the meeting, members of the subcommittee also agreed to establish an assistance group comprising officials from the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization, the Ministry for Culture, Sport and Tourism, the Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and headed by Director of People Unions Department of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilization Vy Tư Liệu.
