Experts discuss draft law on belief and religion

Following the similar conference held on July 17 in Ho Chi Minh city, the National Assembly Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, gathered opinions from experts and religious dignitaries in Vietnam North on the draft law on belief and religion at a conference held in Hanoi on July 23.

Chairman of the National Assembly Committee Đào Trọng Thi and Vice Chairman Trịnh Ngọc Thạch co-chaired the conference.

Participants of the conference included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Thanh Hà, National Assembly deputies; researchers, scientists and representatives from religious organizations (Buddhism, Catholicism, Protestantism, Caodaism, Muslim in Vietnam North ...).

The participating delegates discussed and commented on many issues covered in the draft law including the right of freedom on belief and religion, conditions for, and competence on recognition of religious organizations, religious and social activities, state administrations on belief and religion, religious activities with foreign elements involved…
