
The Evangelical Church of Vietnam (North) (ECVN) opened its 35th General Assembly on October 17 in Hanoi city.
Attending the opening ceremony were Pastor President of the ECVN (North) Nguyễn Hữu Mạc and about 1,500 delegates representing followers of the Church from the Northern provinces and cities.

Distinguished guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Ngô Sách Thực, Pastor President of the ECVN (South) Phan Vĩnh Cự and Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Council Thích Gia Quang.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the GCRA Bùi Thanh Hà spoke highly of practical contributions made by the Church in responding to patriotic and social movements launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.
The working program of the three-day event which lasts until October 19 will include adjustment of the Church’s Charter, approval of working plans for the next four years and election of the executive committee for the 2017-2021 tenure.
