139 religious dignitaries and clerics from provinces and cities of the 3rd Military Region have participated in a training conference on defense and security knowledge started on September 17 in Hai Phong city.
The training was co-organized by the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) and the Council of National Defense & Security Education.
Attending the opening ceremony of the training saw the presence of Major General Director of the General Department of the Militia and Self-Defense Forces Phạm Quang Ngân, Major General Deputy Director of the general department Lương Quang Cương, and Chief of the GCRA’s Office Nguyễn Văn Long.
Speaking at the event, Major General Phạm Quang Ngân spoke highly of contributions made by dignitaries and deacons of religious organizations in the 3rd Military Region in developing and defending the country.

According to the Major General, over 260,000 religious personnel from religious institutes and seminaries nationwide have participated in conferences fostering defense and security knowledge over the past years.
