Lights will be switched off for one hour from 8:30-9:30pm in response to the Earth Hour 2022 campaign, which is scheduled to take place on March 26, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT).
Earth House is a movement to raise public awareness on climate change
Earth Hour is a worldwide movement initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) with the aim of raising public awareness on climate change and saving energy.
In recent years, Earth Hour in Vietnam has drawn the attention and response of millions of people from all walks of life throughout the 63 provinces and centrally-governed cities.
To contribute to global efforts, the MOIT has asked local authorities to hold communication campaigns about Earth Hour so as to encourage organisations, agencies and residents to turn off lights and unnecessary equipment during the event.
As the COVID-19 pandemic remains complicated, mass gatherings should be avoided, instead publicity campaigns should be conducted via internet, radio and TV as well as banners and posters.
