On January 14, Dong Thap provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to review 20 years implementing the movement for building cultural lifestyles and 15 years implementing the fund raising movement for the poor.
Attending the conference were representatives from local authorities, businesses, and religions, and typical individuals in the locality.
As reported at the conference, throughout the years, the implementation of the movements for building cultural lifestyles and fund raising for the poor have brought practical results. Religions and people proactively participated in and made practical contributions to the socio-economic development in the locality. By the end of 2014, 643 out of 701 villages were awarded the title “cultural village”, over 47,000 charity houses were rebuilt and upgraded with the total value of over VND 427 billion.
On this occasion, the provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented certificates of merit to 31 collectives and 64 individuals including religious followers for their outstanding contributions in the movements.
