An Phong Caodai parish solemnly inaugurated its new oratory at a ceremony held in Thanh Binh district, Dong Thap province on March 12.
Attending the ceremony were Cardinal Thượng Tám Thanh, President of the Tay Ninh Caodai Church’s Executive Council, dignitaries from the Church and about 1,000 Caodai followers inside and outside the locality.
Local guests at the event included Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Bùi Minh Hùng.
An Phong Caodai parish was established in 1930 and built its worshipping facility in 1931. The original oratory was upgraded in 1962 and 1996, later it degraded seriously and could not meet the religious needs of followers in the locality.
The reconstruction of An Phong parish’s oratory was started in 2008 according to the Church’s model of design.
