Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee held a meeting on October 21 to review ten-year implementation of Directive 01/2005/CT-TTg on some tasks regarding Protestantism.
Distinguished at the meeting included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Trí and Chairman of the provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization Huỳnh Văn Tịnh.
As reported at the meeting, over the past years, the State management on Protestantism in particular and religious affairs in general in the locality has met local people’s demand for religious practices; religious activities at local Protestant meeting groups and chapters have been conducted stably and in accordance with the State’s policies, religious Charters and regulations. The relation and coordination between Protestant dignitaries and followers and local authorities have been enhanced.
Currently, Dong Nai province has 25 Protestant sects with nearly 20,000 followers, 70 pastors, commissioned pastors and missionaries.
