On January 1, 2016, Xuan Loc diocese in Dong Nai province held an opening ceremony to start the pilgrimage festival to Lady of Cui Mountain at its pilgrimage centre.
About 15,000 pilgrims from dioceses of Xuan Loc, Ho Chi Minh, Da Lat and Ba Ria joint the pilgrimage opening.
During the event, Coadjutor Bishop of Xuan Loc diocese Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo presided over Catholic rituals and initiated prayers for peace in Vietnam and the world.
Speaking at the ceremony, Great Holy Cross Knight Lê Đức Thịnh extended New Year wishes to participants and expressed hope that more pilgrims would come to the centre and make prayers together.
