The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Thai Nguyen held on September 10 a meeting to disseminate the law on Belief and Religion to Buddhists monks, nuns and followers in the province.
Attending the event’s opening ceremony were Deputy Director of Legislation and Inspection Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Thị Định, Chairwoman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Thị Mạnh Anh, Senior Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Nguyên Thành, monks and nuns participating in Phu Lien pagoda’s summer retreat school, and about 400 Buddhist laymen and followers in the province.
During the meeting, Deputy Director Nguyễn Thị Định introduced key contents of the law on belief and religion passed by the National Assembly in November last year as well as legal provisions on religion-related land and construction.
