Dinh Co temple is located in Long Hai town, Long Dien District of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

According to historical documents, the original temple was just a simple and small shrine, built in the late 18th century to worship a young girl named Lê Thị Hồng.

The body of the 16-year-old girl washed up on Long Hai Beach was buried in Co Son hill by local people. Since the local people believe that she was a sacred goddess who helped and protected the locals in divine ways.

In 1930, Long Hai fishermen moved the temple up Ky Van hill. In 1987, Dinh Co temple was rebuilt after a fire. In 2006-2007, it was reconstructed again. Today, the construction of Dinh Co temple has a total area of over 1,000 m2 with ancient architectural designs mixed with modern styles.
