During the meeting, the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry reported most cultural issues drowing most public effective in recently months, including the deviation and abuses in worshipping ceremonies and festivals at Buddhist and other worshipping establishments, especially the deviant astrological remedy ‘dang sao giai han’ by contributing money in hope for lessening or nullifying impacts of past negative karma or bad luck.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam asked the Culture, Sports and Tourism Ministry, the Government Religious Affairs Committee and the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to work together for preventing the deviant astrological remedy by profiteers and disseminating authentic cultural and worshipping values to the public.

The Deputy Prime Minister also requested concerning ministries to join in developing fine cultural styles, including a project on culture assigned to the Home Affairs Ministry for enhancing cultural standards in public services.
